Privacy Policy
This explains what personal information JSHW collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. It is written in plain language on purpose.
Who is responsible for your information
JALTTMM (PTY) LTD T/A JSHW is the responsible party for the personal information described here, as defined by the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect
When you use the contact form
The form on our Reach Out page asks for your name, your email address, and your message. All three are required — without them we cannot answer you. You also have to tick a box confirming you have read this policy, and we record that you did.
We record which of our web addresses the message came from, so we can tell real enquiries apart from test submissions. We do not record your IP address with your message.
When you simply browse the site
Nothing, beyond the ordinary server logs described below. To be specific about what this site does not do:
- It sets no cookies.
- It stores nothing in your browser.
- It runs no analytics and no tracking of any kind.
- It loads no fonts, scripts, images or embeds from other companies. Every file the page needs comes from this site.
There is no cookie banner here because there is nothing to consent to. If that ever changes, this page changes with it.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard web server logs — your IP address, your browser and operating system, the page you asked for, and the time. Every web server does this, and it is how outages and abuse get diagnosed. We do not use these logs to build a picture of you, we do not combine them with anything else, and we do not analyse them for marketing.
Why we collect it
Only to read and reply to your enquiry, and to keep a record that you made it. We do not use your details for marketing, we do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone.
Giving us your information is entirely voluntary. The only consequence of not giving it is that we cannot reply.
Who else sees it, and where it goes
When you submit the contact form, your message is stored in a private Google Sheets spreadsheet that only we can open, and a copy is emailed to us. Google acts as an operator (a processor) on our behalf — they store the data, they do not get to use it for their own purposes.
This matters and we would rather say it plainly than bury it: Google stores this data on servers outside South Africa. Under section 72 of POPIA this is a trans-border transfer of your personal information, and by submitting the form you are consenting to it. Google's own handling of the data is covered by Google's privacy policy.
If you would prefer your information not to leave the country, do not use the form — email us directly at xyz.support@jshw.xyz instead, and say so in your message.
Apart from Google and our hosting provider, nobody else receives your information unless the law requires us to hand it over.
Our site links to our LinkedIn page. That is an ordinary link, not an embedded widget — LinkedIn learns nothing about you unless you actually click it, at which point their privacy policy applies rather than ours.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions for 62 months from your last interaction with us, provided nothing further happens in that time — an enquiry that gets no reply from you, for example. If you get back in touch before that period ends, the clock resets and runs another 62 months from that more recent interaction. After the period lapses with no further contact, we delete it.
If your enquiry becomes an ongoing working relationship, that is no longer covered by this retention period — we keep the records that relationship requires, for as long as the law requires us to.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner. See below.
Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you, and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete it.
- Object to us using it.
- Withdraw your consent at any time — including consent to the transfer described above.
- Complain to the Information Regulator.
To do any of these, email xyz.privacy@jshw.xyz and tell us what you want. A plain email is enough — there is no form to fill in and it costs you nothing. We will reply within a reasonable period.
Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that already, lawfully, happened before you asked.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please tell us first — we would rather fix it. You are also entitled to complain directly to the Information Regulator of South Africa, whichever you prefer:
Security, honestly stated
This site is served over HTTPS, the capture spreadsheet is private, and the address it is written to is not published anywhere on this site. We take reasonable steps to protect your information.
We are not going to claim it is impossible to intercept information sent over the internet, because that is not true of any website. Please do not send us anything highly sensitive — financial details, identity numbers, passwords — through the contact form. We will never ask you for any of those by email.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and change the date at the top. This page describes what the site actually does today, not what a template says a website might do.
